For the last three years or so Ive been scouting around for the purrfect water feature to go with my Egyptian theme in my bedroom. Usually the water features Ive found are either way too expensive or they look and feel a little too generic for my liking.
Therefore I decided another project was in order, I initially had quiet a few ideas, but at the end of the day the design you see here is the most reliable, sturdy and robust design I came up with. Its relatively easy to clean and maintain and I really like the way it turned out. *Smiles*
Lately Ive felt very down so I decided to channel my frustrations into something productive and something that could possibly calm me down. I do house-sitting every Sunday and strangely this last Sunday whilst having a really painful headache and feeling particularly lonely I came across this type of stone Castello brick.
This type of Castello is commonly used in bathrooms and other Tuscan homely areas. This particular sheet was thrown outside to be disposed i.e. thrown away. So to cut a long story short I sliced it up and stuck it together to make an elongate castle wall type column for the water to be channeled down over the bricks.
I used a glazed pot so that the water does not seep through and I bought a R65.00 water pump with a Squirrel Cage Motor inside. I hope you all like it and please feel free to criticize any aspect of its design.
