A couple of months ago I stumbled upon a character pencil sketch entitled: ‘Details’. This anatomically beautiful sketch was drawn by an artist who goes by the name Toekneebob on deviantART.
Basically this sketch discussed and explained the details behind the garments and jewelry worn by Toeknee’s character. This image was predominantly used as a guide in order for another furry artist to sketch his fursona in the form a Furry Art Convention badge. TaniDaReal is the artist that used this sketch as a guideline.
The one thing that primarily caught my intrigue was a sketch of a jewel in the bottom right hand corner of the image, a pendant worn around his character’s neck. A red jewel incased in a silver clasp on a matching silver chain! In actual fact this jewel was supposed to be blue in color according to the artist.
Therefore a challenge presented its self in the form of a jewel. I decided to model the jewel in a 3D environmental program to see how it would turn out. At first I struggled to find the precise curvature of the clasp, to best mimic the sketch. I know it’s not perfect, but I very much like the way it turned out.
Based on the idea of a blue jewel I decided to call this rendered image September Sapphire. Mainly because Toeknee’s Birthday is in September and thus his corresponding birthstone would be Sapphire!
I tried to add as much luster and mystique to the jewel as possible. In a sense to complement the wearer of such an exquisite garment that would best compliment the wear’s beautiful spirit. I really hope Anthony likes this image and just maybe I may consider making this jewel pendant into a real wearable pendant.
If anyone would like me to type up a detailed tutorial of materials used and functions implemented to create such a 3D model, please feel free to email me. Thanks

I've seen very, very similar pendants on sale, though the curved silver frame was shaped like a dolphin instead of a plain semicircle.
